INSURANCE & OUT OF NETWORK COVERAGE
I am able to accept employer-sponsored plans under Aetna or Optum in New York and Massachusetts as an In-Network Provider through the third party servicer, Alma. In order to verify coverage, I will need a copy of your insurance card, your billing address and date of birth, as well as the name and date of birth of the policy holder if it is someone other than yourself. For clients using this method, Alma will collect copayments and any deductibles.
Aside from Aetna and Optum in NY and MA, I am an Out of Network Provider for insurance purposes. While I’m unable to accept insurance from other companies directly, I offer billing for the purpose of insurance reimbursement. Depending on your coverage, Out of Network benefits will often reimburse a significant portion of our fee.
It is recommended that you contact your insurance carrier to find out if you are eligible for Out of Network coverage. When contacting insurance, be sure to ask the following questions:
Does my insurance plan offer Out of Network coverage for mental and behavioral health?
What is my Out of Network deductible? Has it been met? When does it renew?
What amount per session will insurance reimburse?
How do I submit billing so I can be reimbursed for psychotherapy sessions?
